Cafe Team Lead (Part-Time) - Matcha Bar

  • Wage: $21 per hour

  • Hours per day: 8 hours


Responsibilities

  • Plan, organize, direct, control, and evaluate the daily operations of the matcha café, including beverage production, customer service, and front- and back-of-house activities.

  • Determine the range and type of food and beverage services offered, and implement standardized operational procedures to ensure consistency, quality, and efficiency of service.

  • Control inventory levels, oversee ordering of ingredients and supplies, and maintain cost controls to minimize waste and support operational profitability.

  • Resolve customer complaints and service issues in a timely and professional manner to maintain a high standard of guest experience.

  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and food handling regulations, and maintain a clean, safe, and organized workplace in accordance with applicable legislation.

  • Oversee maintenance of equipment and facilities, coordinating repairs and servicing as required to ensure uninterrupted operations

Requirements

  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience in the hospitality or food and beverage sector

  • At least 1–2 years of supervisory or management experience (e.g., café manager, restaurant manager, food service manager, or assistant manager)

  • Proven experience overseeing daily café or restaurant operations, including opening and closing procedures, service standards, and workflow coordination

  • ·Strong hands-on experience with inventory management, ordering, cost control, and monitoring revenues and expenses

  • Experience implementing and maintaining operational procedures to support service quality, consistency, and efficiency

  • Ability to effectively address and resolve customer concerns, ensuring a high standard of service and a positive customer experience

Required or Preferred Certifications

Preferred Certification / Training:

  • Certification or Training in tea service, tea preparation, or matcha preparation is considered an asset

The position starts at $21.00 per hour with an additional $2.00 for off-site duties. It is an onsite position with no remote option. Regarding the required shift commitment for this role:

  • Required shift commitments: Friday PM shifts, all day Saturday (AM, MID, or PM), 2 Sundays per month for any shift time (AM, MID, or PM), + 1 more day during the week (AM, MID, or PM) that you can commit to, which will be locked in for 3 months

  • can add more availability for mornings if able to

  • Hours of work (subject to change as we expand):

    • Weekdays: 10am-4pm, 12-8pm, 4-10pm

    • Weekends: 1030am-5pm. 1pm-8pm, 5pm-11pm
